SILICON LAGUNA
Silicon Laguna is an independent studio and an experimental web. It connects ideas, concepts, memories and strange things worth keeping, and makes them readable by people and machines alike.
It began with two feelings and one old idea: sonder, natsukashii, and the early internet's belief that information should connect.
Sonder
SON-der
The realization that every stranger is living a life as full as yours, with their own plans, regrets and worries, all happening at once.
Picture a window lit at night. Someone is in there, as real as you are.

Natsukashii
懐かしい
nah-tsoo-KAH-shee
Japanese. The warm ache of remembering something good that has passed. You are glad it happened, and a little sad it is over.
Sonder looks outward at everyone else. Natsukashii looks back at what we loved. Silicon Laguna is a place built from both.
Cold machines, warm water. Engineering with an aesthetic.
The early web ran on a simple philosophy: documents that point to other documents, with meaning attached. The semantic web took that idea seriously.
It is funny that it took language models retrieving information for people to start caring about entity resolution, edges and graphs. Expect that to be gamed soon too, which pulls it further from the original vision.
Silicon Laguna aims at the original vision: a strange collection of connected ideas, concepts and memories. Anything belongs if it connects.
The pages under /web/ are HTML, CSS and JavaScript documents. Each carries machine-readable JSON-LD, plus two experimental formats of our own, root-ld and recursive-ld, based on research into AI retrieval.
Ledgers and Pydantic models decide the edges. Most are set deterministically. Some come from inference.
Each page puts its edges in its head for crawlers. It shows them again below the content for humans: how, what and why it relates, sorted by confidence.
A search over millions of crawled URLs, with no ranking algorithm deciding what you see. It is not an attempt to be Google. Think of Google turned inside out.
It is in progress, and it takes a lot of servers.
The demos and the big game aim for feelings modern life often dulls: wonder, nostalgia, sonder, empathy, the pull of an unexplored world.
We are building a first full game end to end, and we want your feedback.
We are also testing AI-made content as an alternative to endless scrolling, plus long-form ASMR, ambient and experience videos for deep work, cleaning, or a screensaver at a party. It is labeled as AI-made, on YouTube and here.
Sonder says everyone is living a whole life at once. The frequency dial adds a second idea: the channel you are tuned to shapes your reality, or at least your relationship to it.
The web graph, the games and the content all explore that. Turn the dial and see what else is on. Where science and art meet.
And what is consciousness, anyway?
Silicon Laguna is a community of like-minded and unlike-minded people, from every background and place. Write to us, send feedback, or just look around.
